Dems Celebrate George Floyd on Memorial Day, and AOC 2028 Rumblings, with Rich Lowry and Charles C.W. Cooke | Ep. 1325
What was said
"6 years ago today, George Floyd's murder started a global movement for change. Let us continue working to build a society that lives up to its democratic ideals of liberty and justice for all."
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey issued extensive social media tributes to George Floyd on the sixth anniversary of his death, while providing minimal Memorial Day acknowledgment. Walz posted a five-part thread honoring Floyd and visited George Floyd Square to dance with crowds, while skipping the Fort Snelling Memorial Day program where 200,000 veterans are buried. Frey posted one generic Memorial Day message five hours after his detailed Floyd tribute.
