Dunham Walked Away From Great British Bake Off Over Extreme Preparation Demands

"Paul obviously does not— is not comfortable with any store-bought jams or butters, so— but we have a really simple pistachio butter recipe that we could send you. And I actually have a great short book on making jam. And they said, well, there's a great book called The Science of Baking, which we can send you. Ovens go on at 8:00 AM and off at 6:00 PM."
Dunham revealed she was invited to appear on the celebrity charity edition of Great British Bake Off but declined after producers expected her to master jam-making, read The Science of Baking, and practice crumpets 9 to 10 times. The final straw was learning she'd have to operate ovens herself for 10-hour days with no crew assistance.
