Calderon revealed he worked directly with CIA intelligence officers who were embedded in his specialized Mexican counter-narcotics unit during the early 2000s drug war. The CIA provided cutting-edge surveillance technology and training to this Americanized police force that operated with U.S. military and NCIS instruction, representing a significant unreported American intelligence presence in Mexican domestic operations.
