What was said
"We also had CIA intelligence people working with us. Some high-level people were bringing in some of those first technologies. I mean, we're talking about BlackBerry and Nextel era that I was kind of active in. And we would see some of the first technologies related to cracking BlackBerrys come into play."
Calderon revealed he worked directly with CIA intelligence officers who were embedded in his specialized Mexican counter-narcotics unit during the early 2000s drug war. The CIA provided cutting-edge surveillance technology and training to this Americanized police force that operated with U.S. military and NCIS instruction, representing a significant unreported American intelligence presence in Mexican domestic operations.
