"Our relationship to Israel is responsible for about $10 trillion of our national debt. If you acknowledge that the global war on terror was fought largely to the benefit of Israel, we didn't go attack multiple countries that had nothing to do with 9/11 for Israel purposes."
Clint Russell argued on the podcast that Israel is responsible for approximately $10 trillion of the U.S. national debt when accounting for the global war on terror, which he contends was fought primarily to benefit Israel. He cited spending totals including $8 trillion for post-9/11 wars and $175 billion in direct aid, arguing the wars in Iraq and other Middle Eastern countries were prosecuted to serve Israeli strategic interests rather than American ones.
