Mylett Reveals Father's Death Taught Him Only Two Things Matter in Life
Ed Mylett Show
Why You Haven't Met Your Full Potential (Yet) | Ed Mylett
"When my dad died, he had worries and fears and anxieties and problems. He didn't take those with him. So you can't take any of that crap with you. What did he leave? My dad left two things. My dad left us. He left his family. He left the lessons we learned, the memories we had, all that other stuff. And then he left all the other people that he helped."
Ed Mylett shared that being present when his father took his last breath fundamentally changed how he views success and anxiety. Observing his father's body surrounded by awards, possessions, and a house he couldn't take with him, Mylett realized the only legacy that matters is the family and people you impact. This realization, he explained, now eliminates performance anxiety because he focuses on the difference he makes for audiences rather than worrying about outcomes he can't take with him anyway.
