The Health Crisis Of Office Jobs - Bob King - #1098
"A significant percent of adults in America have chronic or repeated back pain. It's a huge problem. And as you get older, it gets worse and worse. The old C-spine. Your spine is now curved forward, which is incredibly, incredibly unhealthy. There's probably, aside from lifting very heavy weights, nothing worse for your back than doing that. And that's how everybody, everyone sits."
Bob King, founder of Humanscale, revealed that the majority of American adults suffer from chronic or repeated back pain directly caused by common sitting postures. He explained that hunching forward at desks curves the spine, putting extreme pressure on vertebral discs. King cited this as one of the worst things for spinal health aside from heavy lifting, yet it remains the universal sitting position in offices worldwide.
