Another juror testified that Becky Hill explicitly said to her, you know, oh, he's basically, he's guilty."
The South Carolina Supreme Court overturned Alex Murdaugh's conviction for murdering his wife and son after court clerk Becky Hill was found to have explicitly influenced jurors. Despite overwhelming evidence of guilt, the court ruled the jury tampering violated his constitutional right to a fair trial. Murdaugh will remain imprisoned on concurrent 27-year state and 40-year federal sentences for financial crimes.
