What was said
"I just signed my first major record deal for this album. Yes. And it was off the back of my biggest collaboration project with Phineas, a band. There was just this hype and momentum that was setting up this record for commercial success. Sure. And if all of that momentum and that the best writing that I've ever done didn't sort of materialize in a commercial way. Yeah. There is so much to this job that I hate and that I am unwilling to continue doing for not commercial success."
Ashe says she has signed her first major-label deal for the album she is discussing. She argues that without commercial results she would not keep doing the parts of the job she dislikes, including promotion and travelling.
