Everett claims a dental check found no Pirahã cavities before sugar cane was introduced

Daniel Everett says he brought a dentist to examine the Pirahã and claims they found no cavities after checking every person they could along the river. He says that after sugar cane was introduced into their fields, cavities became common, and he also claims some community members later became overweight.
