What was said
"He goes, "Have you been printing any counterfeit any recently?" And he goes, "No." He goes, "Well, now you know why we're here.""
Former US Secret Service agent Brad Beer recounts an early-career case involving an alleged threat against George W Bush during the 2000 campaign. Beer describes a senior colleague, “Bill”, using an opening line about counterfeit money to frame why agents were there, before shifting into rapport-building aimed at eliciting an admission; Beer says the suspect later received probation and a delayed sentence.
