"in July 1967, Al Gore senior, the father of the person senator from Tennessee, correct? Al Gore senior, he goes to visit Gaza. That's correct. And then he comes back and he testifies before Congress on what he observed and he describes Gaza as quote a concentration camp on the send if you will."
Norman Finkelstein says historical literature shows UN officials in 1950s Gaza described it as a “concentration camp”, while it was under Egyptian control. He also claims former US senator Al Gore Sr used the same term in 1967 congressional testimony, and says a former Israeli National Security Council head did so in 2004.
