"So, he created this algorithm that you could put in uh in I'm not exactly sure what it was, a software or a site or something where you could input the theoretical weight of your mech head and the the in the theoretical size of your balsa river raft. And he found that if you made the raft too big to go down the narrow stretches of the Coatzacoalcos River and you put a five ton head on that raft, it would flip the raft and sink it."
Luke Caverns says a nautical engineer on a Dr Edwin “Red” Barnhart expedition built a model to test moving an Olmec head by balsa raft on the Coatzacoalcos River. He says the model suggested a raft narrow enough for tight stretches could capsize with a five-ton load, adding the smallest head is about six tons and the largest about 52.
