Guest claims Fauci diary shows he urged de Blasio to close schools

"Yeah, I think he directly tells Bill Delasio to close schools in the spring of 2020. I just think that this narrative that Fouchi didn't close the schools is so misleading."

A guest on Bari Weiss’s Honestly argues that Anthony Fauci privately encouraged New York City mayor Bill de Blasio to close schools in spring 2020, pointing to what they describe as Fauci’s diary entries. The guest contrasts this with Fauci’s public statements, including a reported July 2022 interview in which Fauci said he did not recommend locking down anything, and argues Fauci’s media presence made him a central driver of national pandemic policy messaging.
