"Well, okay, the immediate concern people would have, which is very legitimate, is like so often you need to get a biopsy of the thing you're getting rid of to make sure it's not cancerous. But guess what? That's really detectable. And taking pictures of it, and AI is really fucking good at telling you which ones are problematic and which not. In fact, in many studies, they're better than radiologists are at identifying that stuff."
Dax Shepard says he uses a home dermatology “zapping” device to remove benign-looking growths, while acknowledging the risk of destroying something that should be biopsied. He also claims photographs analysed by AI can help identify suspicious lesions, and argues AI can outperform radiologists in some studies.
