"And so for the longest time, 30 days was our default. We've recently shifted that down to 7 days. Um we think that's a reasonable trade-off, but we still think cities should should decide um or states for that matter."
Flock Safety CEO Garret Langley says the company has changed its default retention period for automated number plate recognition (ANPR/ALPR) data from 30 days to seven. He says councils or states should still be able to set their own retention rules, but argues that vendors should provide “strong defaults” for privacy and safety.
