"I don't even know why that has to be something public. I mean, I feel like that could be something just resolved between the two of them. I don't think that's something that needs to be not even announced."
Dern says Din Thomas’s on-air remarks about stepping away from cornering Jillian Robertson should not have been made publicly, arguing it was for coach and athlete to resolve privately. She adds that his apology seemed aimed at the timing, and says Robertson can still improve and contend again.
