NASA Investigator: Moon Bases, Mars Anomalies & Uncontacted Tribes | Nadia Drake
""the thing that's really cool is that this November, Voyager 1 will be one light day away from Earth, which means that wow, bingo. Every time we send a signal to the spacecraft, it takes 24 hours to get to the spacecraft.""
Science journalist Nadia Drake says Voyager 1 is expected to reach a milestone this November: being a full light-day from Earth, meaning a 24-hour one-way communications delay. She says she was recently at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory interviewing staff who have worked on Voyager since the 1970s, and that both spacecraft are still communicating with Earth while running on dwindling power.
