What was said
"Many Komodo dragons that made it into this country came in illegally in a crate, and they would just put a little Komodo dragon in with some other monitor lizards, and the inspectors couldn't tell the difference. And they'd go through, and the Komodo dragon that bit Sharon Stone's husband— Sharon Stone's husband— at the Los Angeles Zoo was one of those Komodo dragons."
Eric Goode claims that some Komodo dragons in US zoo collections originated with smuggling operations, describing how traffickers allegedly hid juveniles among similar-looking lizards. He further asserts that the Komodo dragon involved in an incident at the Los Angeles Zoo—where Sharon Stone’s husband was bitten—was among animals brought in through an investigation he links to Malaysian trafficker Anson Wong.
