An Ocular Implant From the Borg
"His first product called Prima has been approved for launch in Europe. Prima is the first BCI device approved for restoring detailed vision and age related macular degeneration that destroys a central vision of your retina."
Peter Diamandis says Max Hodak, whom he identifies as a former president of Neuralink, is running a company whose first product — a retinal implant called Prima — has been approved for launch in Europe. Diamandis describes the device as a brain–computer interface approach aimed at restoring detailed central vision in people with age-related macular degeneration, by converting signals from an implant behind the retina into electrical stimulation of remaining retinal cells.
