Patrick Teahan recounts going no contact with his mother for three years in his early 20s because he says ongoing interactions were derailing his therapy and leaving him “triggered… for a week straight”. He says he later resumed contact, cut it off again, and is now in a third “pretty much the final” no-contact period, which he links to protecting his son.
