"You know, they sent someone, uh, from— that wasn’t a theater critic, while we were still in previews and published this thing in, I think it was the New Republic, basically calling me a conspiracy theorist, anti-Semite, all this stuff to try to discredit this play that was playing at the Public Theater."
Robbins says that as his stage piece “Embedded” reached New York, it was attacked during previews by someone he claims was not a theatre critic, in an article he recalls appeared in The New Republic. He says the piece labelled him a “conspiracy theorist” and an “anti-Semite” to undermine the play at the Public Theater.
