Puck News chief national correspondent Peter Hamby says an Emerson College national poll of Republicans shows JD Vance’s support for the 2028 nomination falling from 50% in August 2025 to 36% now, putting him effectively level with Marco Rubio at 35%. Hamby argues the shift tracks, in part, with fallout from the administration’s Iran policy and Vance’s decision to act as a high-profile defender of Donald Trump.
