Trump has ‘no one to blame but himself’ as MAGA support starts to unravel
"he wants the help. I don't even think the help will dig us out of the situation in which we found ourselves. I mean, the president has really stepped in it here. Uh, he's stuck. He knows he's stuck."
Justin Logan, director of defence and foreign policy studies at the Cato Institute, says President Donald Trump wants allied help in the Iran war but is “stuck” because air power is unlikely to deliver the political change the administration is seeking. Logan argues the situation was foreseeable when the conflict began on 28 February, and says there is no “easy way out” that avoids either escalation or growing political costs at home.
