Sachs Accuses Trump of Selling American Policy to Oil Lobby and Israel for Campaign Donations
Judging Freedom
Prof. Jeffrey Sachs : The Economic Consequences of Trump's War
"Trump is, if anything, transactional. So he caters to the oil and gas industry. He caters to the Israel lobby. He caters to Silicon Valley, which is making a ton of money with the new digital killing machines. And these are his donor base, and American policy has been sold to them, and the American people have been sold down the river."
Economist Jeffrey Sachs directly accused President Trump of selling U.S. foreign and economic policy to major donor constituencies including Big Oil, the Israel lobby, and Silicon Valley defense contractors. Sachs claimed these groups are profiting massively from the Iran war while ordinary Americans suffer from higher energy prices. This represents a bold institutional attack naming specific industries allegedly controlling policy.
