"I even said this on the Michael Knowles Show, that it was more likely than not in my mind that the larger mummies like Maria were real. But I've since reversed that position. I think it's more likely than not that all of them are a hoax."
Alberino says he visited the University of Ica/Eco Museum to view specimens associated with the ‘Nazca mummies’ controversy, including the larger body known as ‘Maria’. He says he initially leaned towards authenticity but has changed his view, citing the provenance through grave robbers and early fakes, and alleging significant money involved, including a claimed $1m asking price for ‘Maria’.
