Timcast guest alleges UK police 'drip-fed' Widdecombe case details

What was said

"So, initially again the with the evidence that was drip fed they were leading the public to believe that she had just died. You know, she fell and hit her head I think is what the official narrative was. Then it turns to burglary gone wrong and then 3 days later the story breaks that the counter-terrorism unit has taken over the case."

A Timcast IRL guest claimed UK authorities initially framed the death of former British politician Ann Widdecombe as a non-suspicious incident before shifting to a “burglary gone wrong” narrative, and then moving the case to counter-terrorism. He argued this incremental release of information was designed to manage public reaction, though he did not cite documentary evidence beyond what he said had been reported. The discussion followed the host reading out a segment presented as a BBC report describing prosecutors’ allegations in court, including that Widdecombe was struck 21 times with a hammer and a suspect was remanded in custody.
