Utah Prosecution Using Rare Preliminary Hearing Strategy Exposing Full Evidence Early
Megyn Kelly Show
The REAL Reason We're Seeing Very RARE Preliminary Hearing For Tyler Robinson
"They could take all of this evidence and have a police officer, the lead investigator, testify for less than 30 minutes and summarize all of this and get over probable cause. They could do that. They don't have to play all these interviews. They don't have to put forth all of this evidence."
Utah prosecutors are conducting an unusually extensive preliminary hearing in the Tyler Robinson case rather than using a grand jury, showing their full hand of evidence including alleged confessions, text messages, and forensic material. Former prosecutors say this five-day evidentiary proceeding is unnecessary for establishing probable cause, which could be accomplished in under 30 minutes with a summary witness. Legal experts suggest prosecutors may be using the hearing to publicly demonstrate case strength amid intense scrutiny over the Charlie Kirk shooting.
