CIA Recruits Through Pop-Up During Peace Corps Application, Former Officer Reveals
Everyday Spy
What Happens When the President Gives the Nuclear Launch Order?
"I'm applying online to the Peace Corps, and a screen pops up in the middle of the application. That says you may be suitable for other jobs in the national security sector. Are you willing to put your application on hold for 72 hours while we let a recruiter reach out to you?"
Andrew Gregg reveals an unusual CIA recruitment method: a pop-up message during his Peace Corps application that asked if he would pause his application for a national security recruiter. Within 24 hours, he received a call from an unlisted 703 area code, followed by overnight plane tickets to Washington D.C. He was ultimately recruited as an undercover intelligence officer for the CIA's National Clandestine Service.
