Mike Ritland alleges child trafficking reports rose sharply between 2010 and 2015 and links it to telecoms expanding smartphone access through monthly financing without credit checks. He argues increased smartphone adoption among minors, especially in poorer areas, made vulnerable children easier for traffickers to reach online.
