What happened in this episode?

Tom Segura and Bert Kreischer spend the bulk of the episode on industry talk prompted by SiriusXM’s decision to replace its Raw Dog stand-up clip channel with a Sebastian Maniscalco-branded station. Kreischer claims the change “terminated the income of about 500 comics”, describing anger in the comedy scene and arguing that blame was misdirected at Maniscalco rather than at SiriusXM management. Segura echoes that framing, calling it a standard programming move, while both acknowledge that some comics relied on the royalty cheques for routine expenses.

Kreischer says the backlash pushed him to float the idea of a stand-up comedians’ union online, claiming his phone “blew up” with messages from comedians offering support and that his wife Leanne is now helping to organise it. The pair discuss what a union could realistically address, including healthcare and long-stagnant club feature and host pay, while also noting the tension between raising rates and keeping clubs profitable.

Outside the SiriusXM segment, the conversation ranges across sports and celebrity stories, including Michael Jordan lore and the appeal of athlete-led podcasts, alongside lighter personal riffs on ageing, beards, hair loss, and parenting nostalgia as their children grow older.

Bert Kreischer claims SiriusXM’s Raw Dog change ended income for ‘about 500’ comedians

Bert Kreischer · at 25:08 · Attributed speaker claim
For anyone who doesn't know, this past week there was a big hubbabaloo in um on our comedy scene and SiriusXM made a transition from Raw Dog Radio to Sebastian Maniscalo radio. And in doing so, it it terminated the income of about 500 comics, all of which it seems, live in New York, that which was odd to me.

On the podcast, comedian and co-host Bert Kreischer said SiriusXM’s shift from “Raw Dog Radio” to a “Sebastian Maniscalco” branded channel “terminated the income of about 500 comics”, adding that the affected comedians appeared to be mainly New York-based. The other host, Tom Segura, is heard responding that it was a SiriusXM programming decision, and notes some online backlash wrongly framed Maniscalco as having “bought” the channel.
