Dana White says his team tries to prevent unscheduled fighters entering the ring for face-offs
yeah, first of all, whoever wins tonight, you know, Ryan Garcia goes out and does what he says he's going to do in spectacular fashion and then have somebody else jump in the ring and, you know, for a fight that isn't set up. It just No, it it's not what we do. Even the Benvdas thing, Gio Patayas started going back and forth with him and it was a mutual thing. So we we ended up letting him in, but we weren't gonna let Benvitas in either.
In a clip played on The Ariel Helwani Show, Dana White said organisers were “trying not to let guys in” to the ring after bouts, addressing a question about Teofimo Lopez allegedly trying to get in to face off with Ryan Garcia. White said that after a win, allowing someone to “jump in the ring” to push a fight “that isn't set up” is “not what we do”. White added that David Benavidez was also not going to be allowed in initially, but said they relented after what he described as a mutual back-and-forth involving Jai Opetaia.
